Stroke Survivor & Caregiver Support Group at HCA HealthOne Sky Ridge (Lone Tree) — Meeting Recap

We met today at HCA HealthOne Sky Ridge in Lone Tree, and Paula led another strong, supportive discussion. Our group always starts the same way — with simple check‑ins. What’s going on with each of us? What’s improving? What’s confusing? What’s hard? It’s a chance for survivors and caregivers to talk openly, ask questions, and share anything that’s been happening since the last meeting.

CAREGIVERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME. They’re part of the recovery journey, and we want them in the room, learning, asking, and connecting right alongside survivors.

After check‑ins, we moved into today’s main topic — Paula’s goal is to make these meetings useful, not just social. So we talked through some of the practical tools and therapies that help with arm recovery after stroke. Nothing too technical, just enough to help people understand what’s out there and what questions to ask their therapists.

The hospital continues to support this group in a big way. HCA HealthOne Sky Ridge believes in the value of survivor and caregiver communities — not just during the hospital stay, but long after. They’ve given us the space, the resources, and the encouragement to keep growing this group and making it something people can rely on.

Before wrapping up, we gave a quick preview of next month’s topic:

CONSTANT THERAPY— what it is, how it works, and why so many survivors use it.

We didn’t dive deep yet — that’s for the next meeting — but we teased the basics so people know what’s coming. It’s a powerful app for cognitive and motor recovery, and we’re excited to show how it fits into real‑world rehab.

If you’re a survivor, caregiver, or family member, you’re welcome here. Sky Ridge is committed to supporting you beyond the initial visit, and this group is part of that mission. Come join us, learn with us, and share your journey.
